"Every canvas I paint creates a window
for self-discovery. Working abstractly allows the power of the
unconscious to emerge and I rely on my intuition, instincts and body to
guide me. In this soul/process of discovery cellular memories, natural
landscapes and archetypal images emerge. I experience myself as if I was
on an archeological dig where symbols and colors can flow and tap into
the stories and myths we live out. Working in layers adds history and
depth to each piece. I paint predominately in oils and also enjoy a
mixed media technique of layering paper onto the canvas. In addition to
various brush techniques, I use the palette knife and mediums to sculpt

in Northern California where I learned to love nature and the outdoors.
By far my favorite subject is the landscape around me, often including

"My passion for photography began at a
young age when my father introduced me to it. The natural ability to see
the world through the camera soon expressed my creativity in some of
the most amazing photographs ever taken. By traveling and exploring
undiscovered places, I have captured some of the most beautiful
landscape scenery that our planet has to offer. I can feel it when I see
the perfect shot. A good photographer is entranced by the moment, the
exact moment when an amazing photograph can be captured. My photographs
are the result of majestic landscape scenery, the perfect lighting, and
the coalition of colors that surround our world. A sense of excitement
overcomes me when I discover that special instant that I know will take
people to another place. My photographs are a medium by which your
imagination takes you to that ultimate escape. An escape from the
ordinary life of the modern world into the remote natural world that has
been created over millions of years. My photographs are the means by
which to pull out something beautiful from inside you. I believe that we

"I grew up with a tremendously artistic family. Surrounded by creative
people all my life, I have learned that art is a form of self
expression. When I create a mosaic I concentrate on texture, scale and
color. I truly enjoy using different elements outside of the box. I add
elements such as metal, wood, stone, reverse painted glass and jewelry.
On commission pieces I sometimes add personal items from the client
which creates an emotional attachment. After years of working in the
interior design industry I realized that my mosaics work well as an
architectural and design element to any project." |
