"When I work with paint, I am stirred
deeply to express life's experiences through color. My intention as an
abstract vibrational artist is to express emotion as well as story
completely through color. When I'm inspired to begin a piece I start by
visualizing a color palette. Then I allow my mind to relax and allow the
colors to appear one at a time. Once I have a clear mental picture of
the colors that are forming I begin to feel into my body and get a sense
of the story these colors would like to tell. I love what I do because
each piece carries it's own vibrational message. The most rewarding
experience as a vibrational artist is when a piece is complete, shared
in a public, and the viewer feels the vibration while connecting to the
story. I know a piece is complete and the story has been told when my
hand will not allow me to put another stroke onto the canvas! When people
see my work I hope they are able to see the colors of their own life in
a tangible way.I feel my art is a success when someone views one of my
pieces and goes from feeling disconnected from self to feeling inspired
and rejuvenated. I believe color is a universal language that everyone
can understand regardless of their educational background, social
status, gender, religion, or race. My goal as an artist is to unite
humanity through the voice of color."-Ellen Benfatti

"If I could choose a term to describe my art, it would have to be
"Brightly Inspired." Whether the idea for a piece comes to me in a dream
or something I see in my day to day life, my goal is always to develop
a piece that is stimulating, head-turning and truly unique. I want the
viewers to be energized by what they see.I've always been captivated by
color and so my artwork is usually very bold, with multiple layers,
textures and shapes. This is the reason for my use of many different
materials. Often the media needed to create the look I'm seeking doesn't
exist at the art store, so I find myself re-purposing materials
discovered at craft fairs, hardware and specialty stores. You'll find
many of my newer pieces consist of a combination of new, recycled, and
re-purposed materials. When all is said and done, my motivation is very
simple: I want a show-stopping piece of art, capable of bringing both a
room and its inhabitants to life." -Michael Courville

"Painting is very personal to me. I need
to feel a strong connection with my subject in order to paint.
Hopefully, as others view my work, they too will feel some sort of
connection, perhaps be reminded of someone or something."-Delores Peffley

"Hip Hop has a category called
"Conscious". If fine art had this same denomination, that's where my
work would be. I believe artists are some of the most conscious,
observant, and reflective people of our time. And currently our present
time is demanding more than a pretty picture to hang on the wall from
its art community. Our world needs art that reflects what its people
are going through, and suggests creative solutions and new perspectives.
Through my current work, I strive to be conscious and inspire
consciousness."-Lindsay Carron

"
I paint mysterious landscapes, using luscious, rich layers of paint,
deep glazes to create three dimensionality and dramatic light and it is
all derived from memory, imagination, feelings and emotions, sketches,
occasionally life and various travels. To me the vibration of the
color and texture have a significant role in painting." |

"I try to glorify the mundane and raise it to a surprising intensity for
the viewer to recognize the often overlooked beauty surrounding us. I
am more a draughtsman than a colorist although I am mostly known for my
bold use of color in the manner of the French Fauves. I enjoy the
challenge and fun of trying different mediums and techniques. More than
anything I love working onsite where I am most capable of shaping
reality to create something beautiful. Great art is truer than real
life." |

| "A
semblance of landscape is persistent in my work. Focusing on memories of
familiar places, I work within a stream of consciousness to create
spaces that are fractured yet loaded with imagery. Although some images
may be more recognizable than others, it is the expanse not the specific
that is significant. I work with imagined, often exaggerated color.
When painting, I may close my eyes and ask "what would come next?" Using
a variety of media: ink, charcoal, graphite, acrylic and oil, I Work
simultaneously on large drawings and paintings; the distinction is not
always clear. Color and line vibrate and blur coming into focus now and
then to suggest imagery. Objects become stacked and compressed in
shallow space. Much like the reconstruction of memory, spatial
understanding and intuition intersect on the painted surface to create
an emotional response.I try to act with an expressionist sensibility,
combining physical experience and a wandering eye with a reckless hand.
When exploring the emotional connection I have to my personal landscape,
I find that architecture and natural forms maintain a lasting
impression on my psyche. Much like Van Gogh's cypress trees, aspects of
the landscape supplant living figures taking on a liveliness that rivals
our own." |
