African designs, prints, fabric and colors have inspired my sense of design. I am fascinated by texture, especially as it is simulated in the repetition of line and shape. Starting from a conceptual idea, I select materials that match my vision; I then allow the raw elements to ‘speak’ to me, often pushing the image in my mind in a new direction. As I handle the materials, each form interacts with the space around it to create a unique work of art.

Biography:	Robin Przybysz has been involved in the arts both in teaching art and in creating her own work. Although her early career was primarily involved with painting and drawing, she has expanded her art into textiles, weaving, sculptural gourds, basketry, and jewelry. She receives pubic and private attention with both galleries and collectors. As a professional, Robin has created her works primarily for herself. Her works come from her private world and become a gift to all who choose to walk in it. They speak of poetry and passions of all those private moments most of us seldom share, but always hold dear.
Statement:	The intimacy of the sculptural vessels goes beyond works that deal primarily with traditional craftsmanship and functional qualities associated with this art form. I love keeping the pieces more primitive, more raw, so that the work reflects my emotions without disguise. My work transcends its own history of form and function and begins to reflect the meditative process I go through in creating my work. The results are an experience of quiet ceremony.
