| | Biography: | For over thirty years I have created distinctive and highly acclaimed work in watercolor, oil and drawing. A great deal of my artistic inspiration was due in part to growing up next to a library and university that supplied constant visual stimuli and a desire to imitate other artists. From grade school to the present, I have taken every opportunity to further develop my skills to portray work that has depth and exemplifies the essence of spiritual bonding between artist and subject.
| | Statement: |
Art is my connection to life. It fuels my creative passion and provides the motivation for artistic challenge and creation. I'm inspired by the intense visual study of my surroundings, and strive to weave the physical aspects of shapes, sizes, colors, and rhythms into a clear poetic presence. My work embodies the cumulative experiences from numerous mediums with a concentration on watercolor. Currently I am experimenting and making my own paper surfaces for mixed media. The greatest challenge lies in searching for a way that will fuse my concept with technique for the most impact. My vision of giving ordinary objects human characteristics is a unifying element for many of my paintings. My fashion based artwork often has a playful message and delves into male and female attitudes. |
