| | Biography: | Danna Tartaglia spent her childhood in San Angelo, a wonderful small town in cental Texas. She had the incredible opportunity to live in Germany as a teenager due to her dad being in the Air Force. Marriage took her to the beauty of Morro Bay, California and then on to Elko, Nevada where she enjoyed her life as wife and raising her children Troy and Neely in the safety of a small town. All the while, squeezing in her painting and knitting and quilts, whatever could be managed in the spaces of daily life. Golfing became a passion and Danna also made use of her artistic talents for tournament signage and brochures. It was a move to Oregon in 2003 that brought her 'out of the closet', when she presented her artwork to galleries and found acceptance and support. In 2006, Danna took on managing a unique gallery in Jacksonville Oregon, where she could set up her easel in the front window work on her painting while chatting with customers about her art. Her move to southern California to live nearer her daughter found another serendipitous moment in her career. Looking for gallery representation in the area, Danna stepped into a lovely gallery that had just announced its closing. Instead of just gallery representation, Danna now has her own art gallery, Townbridge Gallery, where she represents 10 other artists as well as her own art. And, once again, she enjoys painting where she can take time to chat with the people about her art, in the large front windows of the gallery.
| | Statement: |
"I instinctively choose subjects with a bit of a challenge, endeavors such as capturing animals in motion, the spirit of horses running free or the mesmerizing stare of the snow leopard.I like to find the unusual perspective, the non-typical in composition, with most ideas stemming from my passion of the moment. The most fun is simply standing in front of a blank canvas with fresh paint on the brush and only the glimmer of an idea to get the magic underway." |
