Artist Information
Biography: Christina Dunzinger knew she wanted to be an artist at a very young age. She began her formal education at age 22. Dunzinger studied Interior Design, focusing onvarious painting techniques. Soon she discovered her passion for realism. Dunzinger studied drawing at the prestigious "Scola d'arte Da Vinci" in Barcelona and painted under the guide of two renowned "Maestros" Carme Marti and Rubens Tossi. The rich art life of Barcelona made a strong impact in the way she works. Dunzinger moved to California in 2004 where she continued with three years of workshops with Javier Alvarez, three workshops with Marc Whitney, and most recently a workshop with Paul van Ernich. Dunzinger has been showing her paintings at the Driftwood Lodge in Utah. She currently lives with her family in San Clemente, California.
Statement: My paintings do not try to represent something physical. They struggle to be an encounter with the eternal. They try to capture that ephemeral moment when we see something special with our eyes and we perceive not only the image, but the silence, the presence and the emotion of that unique moment. In that instant, that special moment becomes eternal. We think we forget those moments, but, to me, they stay in our souls. Each moment and each feeling attached to it change us in a very subtle way. They move us into the unknown. My paintings are just reminders of those eternal images we all carry in our soul.
