Biography:
Originally from Palm Springs, CA, I graduated with honors from the University of Redlands and received my MFA from MICA. I now call the "art history rich" Hudson Valley NY home. The Hudson for me acts as subject matter in many of my works. I exhibit nationally and internationally in museums, galleries and universities such as The Tabernacle, MOMA Wales, Brooklyn Waterfront Museum, Dolmabahce Palace (State Gallery) Istanbul, and Brenda Taylor Gallery in NYC. I'm a member of Beacon Artist Union and a Council Members of the international coalition Mirca Art Group who create art actions for example, the "Freedom & Art Project", encompassing panel discussions, art exhibits and books as a donated fundraiser format for Amnesty International.
Statement:
As an abstract mixed media artist, the fluidity of line meandering through deep layers of watery, pooling resin is my visual language. I paint about bodies of water using a cross section of folklore, culture, and science. I enjoy using new and unlikely materials and combining them with traditional art mediums, pushing those materials constantly into new forms.
