In German folklore there is a legend of a beautiful lady who is rejected by her one true love. Despondent, she is driven to any man who would fall for her charms.  Scandalized, society bans her to a nunnery. She becomes so desperate that she jumps from a cliff into the Rhine River, believing that her true love awaits her on a ship.  After death she is magically transformed into a mermaid.  Her name was Lorelei.

Biography: Belle Tuckerman is the CEO and founding director of the Belaví Institute for Skin Rejuvenation and the Belaví Facelift Massage System. She is a nationally certified and licensed massage therapist, licensed paramedical esthetician, twice certified yoga teacher, researcher, speaker, writer and educator in the Facelift Massage System and author of the internationally circulated book, Skin to Skin. Favorite quote: "There is a fountain of youth; it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of the people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age." Sophia Loren

Statement: "I grew up in a poor coal mining town in eastern Pennsylvania. Times were tough for everyone in the post-Depression era. My siblings and I had very few toys to play with, and even the four-room, eight-grade schoolhouse I attended was devoid of any spark of design or art. So we invented our own fantasy play world. Playhouses were made from cardboard boxes and stocked with empty food containers. We created fashion out of old clothing and made paper dolls. We learned to be clever and find an imaginative use for everything. We invented, and from those years of invention, creativity was naturally born in me. As I think back to those years, I am amazed at what I learned about life from the scarcity of my existence.

Later, as an adult, I took classes in oil painting and collage. I learned to sew and made original and unique garments, costumes, dolls, and decoration. After marriage and the birth of my two children, I settled into a combined career of yoga teacher, massage therapist, and esthetician. During those years I created a rejuvenating treatment for the face that was nationally and internationally successful. I wrote a book about it and developed it into a course that I taught to thousands of professional massage therapists and estheticians. The years of working on faces and bodies in a clinical setting contributed greatly to my easy transition to sculpting the human body.

My artistic intent is to express metamorphosis, a subject which deeply provokes creation in me. I study faces intently and search for the anima, the evolution, and the intrigue of life that has been inscribed upon them. As an esthetician, I am fascinated by every face I encounter.
