Biography:
Award-winning international artist Al Martinez was born and raised in San Francisco, California. At the age of seven he realized his innate artistic abilities while taking a children's art workshop at the De Young Museum. Mr. Martinez's themes deal with landscape, seascape, wildlife, mechanical and industrial subjects and people going about their everyday lives. His strong definite style appeals to collectors worldwide.
Statement:
"While taking a children's art workshop at the De Young Museum, San Francisco, at age seven, I liked the atmosphere and environment of the museum; I was in awe of it and I decided I wanted to make art my life. Drawing and art always came to me naturally. I attended the California College of Fine Arts and devoted myself to oil painting on canvas."
